Lesson 2 Providing Forecast Input
Utilizing the same forecast preparation system as your servicing River Forecast Centers will help you coordinate during adverse hydrologic events and improve services to NWS customers.
This lesson describes how to use CHPS at WFOs to provide forecast input to RFC hydrologic forecasters.
By the end of this lesson, you should be able to:
- List the steps in creating forecast input.
- Describe several methods of analyzing data.
- Describe different editing methods.
- Create modifiers to test forecast sensitivity.
- Provide feedback to RFCs on forecasts.
- Exit CHPS and the VNC or NX connection.
- Identify sources of hydrologic training information.
