2.9 Exit CHPS

The last step in the forecast input process is shutting down the connections. An orderly shutdown prevents problems with forecasts from the RFC.

Modifiers

Check to make sure you deleted any modifiers before exiting CHPS.

Be sure and delete any modifiers you made after coordinating with the RFC. Do not delete any modifiers you did not make!

Closing and reopening the remote session (VNC or NX) does not clear out modifiers. The modifiers are still in effect when the CHPS client reopens.

Old modifiers adversely affect forecasts from the RFC!

Disconnect from the Master Controller
The Master Controller connects a CHPS user to the Central Database.

You must disconnect from the Master Controller before exiting CHPS or you may not be able to login to another session. Unless you select Log out from the File menu, the system still thinks you are connected.

It is safe to close the CHPS Operator Client session when the Status Indicator at the bottom right of the GUI turns red.

Exit CHPSEnd the Remote Session
Disconnect from either the VNC session or NX session by clicking the “X” at the top right of the screen.

Your session disconnects if you skip this step and another user from your office tries to log into CHPS.
