PCU 7: Onsite Weather Support and IMET Operations
Develop and maintain skills that facilitate operating embedded with an Incident Management Team.
Job Task Skills and Knowledge:
- Assume role of IMET and initiate position activities at the appropriate time
- Provide weather input which influences, guides, and directs personnel to accomplish objectives and desired outcomes in a rapidly changing, high-risk environment
- Use suitable communication techniques to share relevant information with appropriate personnel on a timely basis to accomplish objectives in a rapidly changing, high-risk environment
- Have strong knowledge of weather patterns across the entire service area of the NWS

Instructional Components:
- S390 Introduction to Wildland Fire Behavior Calculations
- ICS 300
- Tasks as directed by IMET taskbook
- Participate in residence or virtual IMET workshops as appropriate
- Completion of at least 2 IMET training assignments and 20 days as an IMET trainee
- S-110 Basic Wildland Fire Orientation
