PCU 7: Onsite Weather Support and IMET Operations

Develop and maintain skills that facilitate operating embedded with an Incident Management Team.

Job Task Skills and Knowledge:

Assume role of IMET and initiate position activities at the appropriate time Provide weather input which influences, guides, and directs personnel to accomplish objectives and desired outcomes in a rapidly changing, high-risk environment Use suitable communication techniques to share relevant information with appropriate personnel on a timely basis to accomplish objectives in a rapidly changing, high-risk environment Have strong knowledge of weather patterns across the entire service area of the NWS

Instructional Components:

S390 Introduction to Wildland Fire Behavior Calculations ICS 300 Tasks as directed by IMET taskbook Participate in residence or virtual IMET workshops as appropriate Completion of at least 2 IMET training assignments and 20 days as an IMET trainee S-110 Basic Wildland Fire Orientation
