What to expect

The purpose of this website is to provide basic introductory material on the
National Weather Service River Forecast System (NWSRFS).

NWSRFS is a total river and hydrologic forecast system and as such includes various hydrologic and routing models as well as data handling and presentation sytems.
A brief introduction to the total NWSRFS system will be provided.

Some historical background is also provided so that the reader has an understanding why and how NWSRFS was developed.

At the conclusion of this material,

• the user should have good insight about the content, capabilities and uses of NWSRFS
   
• how to find more detailed descriptions and training if so desired
