Wind Vectors

Wind vectors in kts are plotted in the Skew-T, and the number of barbs displayed is independent of zoom level (no progressive disclosure which is different from AWIPS-1). The characteristics of the wind barbs are modified through the NSHARP control buttons (Config and Interp) and not the D2D controls (e.g. Density, Mag, etc). The raw values can be plotted, or the wind vectors can be interpolated to 25mb increments (see Interp button section).

Through the Wind Barb Configuration button launched from the Configure button (see Configure button section), you can control the wind barb color, size, width (i.e. thickness), and minimum distance between wind barbs (i.e. density).
