Hodograph Motions

The hodograph plots a number of different motions:

white circle with plus sign - user-defined storm motion. Default is Bunkers Right Mover. Left click on the hodograph to specify your own storm motion which will move the large white circle. The large white circle is used in all storm-relative calculations.

dark red circle with plus sign and RM label - Bunkers Right Mover storm motion. Label in degrees/kts.

light blue circle with plus sign and LM label - Bunkers Left Mover storm motion. Label in degrees/kts.

bright red circle with plus sign - storm motion using 30 degrees to the right of the mean wind and 75% of the speed (not shown in image to the left).

green circle with plus sign - storm motion using 15 degrees to the right of the mean wind and 85% of the speed (not shown in image to the left).

small gray circle with UP label - Upshear Corfidi Vector. Label in degrees/kts.

small gray circle with DP label - Downshear Corfidi Vector. Label in degrees/kts.

yellow square - pressure-weighted mean wind
