BACKGROUND
The ANTENNA WAVEGUIDE INTERLOCK indications provide status reports
for monitoring and maintenance purposes. The waveguide switch interlock
alarm is generated when +28 volts is removed temporarily during the switch
transition from one dual state (Antenna and Dummy Load) to another.
The alarm is also generated when the waveguide switch fails to complete
a transition or when the PFN is not in the correct position.
SIGNAL SOURCE
The source of the +28 volts signal originate at the Data Acquisition
Unit's (DAU) 28 volt power supply. That 28 volts passes through the
DAU out to the Pedestal interlocks located on the radome main entry hatch.
As long as the radome hatch is closed, there is 28 volts at the waveguide
switch 1S1. Signal WGSWTRANSIL seen at the bottom left of figure
11-7 sheet 13 is the Waveguide Transfer Interlock entering Control and
Monitoring. Here are the two signal (WGSWTRANSIL and PFNSWFLT at
bubble 1204) which can cause Antenna Waveguide Interlock Alarm.
Either one of these signals can give us WG/PFN SW INTERLOCK leaving bubble
1307-8.
SIGNAL DESTINATION
On figure 11-7 sheet 8 signal WGPRNSWIL coming in at bubble 1307, changes
it name to WGSWINTLK passes through an Opto-isolators and splits into two
signal named WGSWINH- and WGTRANSFSTS. Let's follow signal WGSWINH-
at bubble 808-7 first. On figure 11-7 sheet 7 at bubble 808 signal
WGSWINH- which is LOW is inverted to a HIGH to give us 1 of 6 signals needed
for Transmitter Available (TXAVAIL).
The other signal are:
1. No Active Fault (FLTSUM)
2. High Voltage inhibit is not active (HVINH)
3. Inrush Suppression is Bypassed on A2 or 280 volts
power supply (HVPSSTS)
4. Preheat must be complete (PREHT)
5. Recycle is not active (AUTORST-)
Signal WGTRANSFSTS leaves figure 11-7 sheet 8 at bubble 815-9,11 going
in two directions. First it goes to figure 11-7 sheet 9 bubble 815
where it is placed on the Fault Bus during Port00EN- and is reported as
Transmitter Data (TDATA). It also Transverse figure 11-7 sheet 11
at bubble 815 as signal WGINTLK- and leaves at bubble 1107-1 as signal
WGXFERINTLK-. On figure 11-7 sheet 1 at bubble 1107, signal WGXFERINTLK-
goes out to light the lamp at Antenna Waveguide Interlock.
LIMITS AND FAULTS
The Waveguide Switch must be fully seated in Antenna or Dummy Load.
The Actual position of the PFN switch (as
seen at A1A1 at DS9) must agree with the commanded position of the
PFN switch.
