Oil
Refill Procedure. The following paragraphs describe how to reassemble
and refill oil tank assembly A7. See figure 11-25 and proceed as follows:
WARNING
Clean up oil spills after repair.
Oil is slippery and hazardous to maintenance personnel. While performing
oil tank repair procedures, make sure that the area is adequately ventilated.
Breathing oil vapors for a prolonged time period is hazardous. Dielectric
oil is a skin irritant. Avoid prolonged skin contact during maintenance
procedures. Dispose of contaminated oil in accordance with applicable federal,
state, and local regulations.
1. Install oil tank assembly
front cover using original mounting hardware.
2. Torque cover screws evenly
to 75 inch-pounds.
CAUTION
Ensure that the dielectric oil
inside the tank is not contaminated with foreign particles which will reduce
its dielectric properties. Ensure that hoses used for oil drain and/or
refill are free of contaminants. Ensure that pump used has been flushed
free of contaminants prior to use
for draining or refilling.
NOTE
If the oil previously removed
from the oil tank assembly is discolored or suspected of being contaminated,
discard and refill with fresh oil. Dispose of contaminated oil in accordance
with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
4. Connect electric oil pump
discharge/pickup hose to replacement oil container.
NWSTC Note
Observe Oil Pump
end, to tell which direction oil wil flow when energized. Connect
hoses accordingly.
CAUTION
Use Dielectric oil (P/N M55822AV,
see Table 1-3). Using the wrong oil will seriously damage the system.
6. While observing oil
level sight gauge, pump new oil out of replacement oil container into
oil tank assembly A7 using electric oil tank hand pump.
