Add HydroBase Gages

HydroBase is a user interface to the database of information for about sites supporting the hydrology program. Examples of these sites include river gages, COOP sites, and Remote Automatic Weather Stations (RAWS).

HydroBase-IHFS Connection

The Integrated Hydrologic Forecast System (IHFS) database stores dynamic hydrologic data as well as static information about sites. IHFS uses the site identifiers defined in through HydroBase to know what data to pull into AWIPS and process.

The IHFS database serves as a central location for the metadata used by hydrologic applications. Keep IHFS up to date using HydroBase to ensure you provide accurate hydrologic information to partners and stakeholders.

Adding information to HydroBase is straightforward and best explained in a job sheet. The following graphic depicts how the information added to HydroBase is used by other applications.
