Hourly Digital Precipitation Decoding

General Information

AWIPS Build 4.1, the HDP decoder will operate much like the SHEF decoder. HDP operations is in:

  • Directory: /awips/hydroapps/whfs/local/data/grid
  • Sub-Directories:
  • read_stage2test
  • stage1
  • stage1_error
  • stage1_raw
  • stage2
  • stage3
  • misc

    • As in the SHEF decoder, if the stage1_raw directory starts increasing too much, check to see if the HDP decoder is started. Remember a HDP cron-job runs every hour.

    Scripts to start and stop the decoder

  • Scripts are: start_process_dpafiles and stop_process_dpafiles
  • Located: /awips/hydroapps/whfs/standard/bin directory
