standard module layout

Recall from CHPS Basic Configuration Training, modules are the activities or operations performed in CHPS. Each module provides a specific functionality.

The graphic on the right displays the basic structure of a module.

The five modules emphasized in the basic configuration course included:

All modules must be defined in the ModuleInstanceDescriptor.xml file in the SystemConfigFiles directory. The ModuleInstanceDescriptor.xml file, located in the RegionConfigFiles directory, defines all of the modules.

ModuleConfigFiles directory

You must configure an instance of the module and place it in the ModuleConfigFiles directory to use the module!

All functional tasks (including modules) in CHPS run through workflows. The activities nested within these workflows are the instances of the module to complete some basic operation.

This lesson introduces the Archive Module. The Archive Module sets up automatic creation of archive files. The Archive Module function and configuration is the same as other modules.
