What notation should I use in handling numbers ??
Should it be standard notation or scientific notation ?
Standard on the left and scientific notation on the right....
5000 = 5 x 103
.0006 = 6 x 10-4
With a scientific calculator it is not too difficult to work with the scientific notation.
But for most purposes in radar calculations, especially if you do not use scientific notation regularly, it is perhaps easier and more reliable to simply use standard notation.
