Course Description

Course Number: R4TXR - WSR-88D Transmitter Refresher

Type of Course: Residence - 10 days

 

Audience: Technicians with WSR-88D maintenance responsibility, and it has been at least 5 (five) years since they have attended WSR-88D Course.


Objective: To Refresh the NWS Electronics Technician's knowledge and skills of the WSR-88D Transmitter necessary to align, calibrate, perform preventive maintenance, and perform corrective maintenance on the Transmitter system. Corrective maintenance will be taught to the Field Replacement Unit (FRU) level consistent with the WSR-88D maintenance philosophy. Students will leave the course with a renewed understanding of the overall operation and maintenance concept of the Transmitter system including all interfaces.


Prerequisites: Attended WSR-88D Course greater than 5 (Five) years ago.
