Lesson 1 Getting Started
Let’s get started with CHPS by logging into the Interactive Forecast Display, an interface you will use frequently to provide forecast input to the River Forecast Center.
This lesson describes how to start CHPS to begin the forecast process and identifies the components of the default CHPS IFD.
By the end of this lesson, you should be able to:
- Identify CHPS users.
- Describe the purpose of using CHPS at a WFO.
- Open CHPS via a remote client session.
- Describe what the user sees when the interface opens.
- Briefly describe the purpose of these components.
- Save a custom Interactive Forecast Display (IFD) layout.
